Riana Del
Vecchio, cottsdale Rotary's outbound student to
Italy, reports that she has arrived in
Loni, Sardinia, Italy. She says that "everyone
is sooo nice and accepting! I love it!" Unfortunately,
her first leg of her trip from Phoenix was late in arriving, so her
luggage did not make the transfer to her Italian flight. She
is still awaiting its arrival.
RIANA'S
REPORT:
November.............
In early
November, Riana says ...My exchange continues to get better and
better! Some of the other Rotary exchange
students and I plan to take a yoga class with one
of my Italian friends. I have now learned
to actually really enjoy shopping and coffee. Recently
I got a little homesick which was weird for me because I've
never been homesick before. To get over it I
grabbed my ipod
and went for a little jog. I went to a vineyard
with other Rotary exchange students and got to pick grapes, which
was the coolest thing ever! School is still a bit
boring, but what school isn't boring?
I saw it rain
really hard for the first time and my Italian dad laughed a little
because I wanted to go dance in the rain. I
opened an umbrella for the first time since I was 9. I'm
pretty sure I've tried every flavor of gelato! Halloween
was way different here than in America. My Rotary
friends and I dressed up in costumes as characters. We
felt a little out of place because everyone else just dressed
the same as they normally do. They all figured we
were Americans so we changed our costumes to look like we
weren't trying to be some character! This past
month I also wore a jacket with a fur collar for the first
time since I was 3! Everything is going
great!
