Chairman: Bob Karatz

The Gift of Life, literally saves lives. The lives of children. This organization brings kids from under privileged parts of the world, to the Valley, to undergo needed heart surgery. Individual members of the Rotary Club of Scottsdale have not only given financial support to this organization, but have also hosted the children and their families while they are in the Valley.

Chairman Bob Karatz has donated $1,000 in order to start our Club's goal of raising $5,000, to save the life of a child during the 2006-07 Rotary year. If you would like to contribute to this wonderful goal, please contact Bob via this link or call him at the phone number in your photo roster.

LINK TO GIFT OF LIFE ARIZONA

THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF LIFE!

Our son Edgar was born with numerous anomalies that lead doctors to think he had Kantrellīs pentalogy. Due to a lack of equipment, his heart malformation could not be described as much more than an anomalous cul de sac below his sternum, with pressure greater than the pressure in his aorta.

GIFT OF LIFE, ARIZONA introduced my family to Dr. Dudley Halpe, who gave us a definitive diagnosis and knowledge of the surgical procedure required for his treatment.

On May 18th, Dr. Rodolfo Siordia successfully performed the operation at the Cima Medical Center in Hermosillo, Mexico.

We would like to thank Mrs. Jessica Chavez, our guide and main link to this life saving program, Mr. Arthur Bell for his enormous commitment and Dr. Rodolfo Siordia, our constant source of hope, support, time and dedication.

We are also forever grateful to GIFT OF LIFE ARIZONA and each and every person involved in caring for and supporting Edgar, whose names we may never know.

Mr. and Mrs. Encinas

Hermosillo, Mexico
