Rotaract
Rotaract brings together adults ages 18-30 to take action in their communities, develop their leadership and professional skills, and have fun. Rotary clubs, like Rotary Club of Scottsdale, sponsor Rotaract Clubs. Rotaract members manage and fund their clubs independently. College students and young professionals join Rotaract Clubs to participate in hands-on community and international service projects; enjoy social activities; utilize development opportunities and network with local, national and international young leaders.
Rotary Club of Scottsdale member, Dr. Honora Norton recently spoke at Rotary International's Big West Rotaract Conference held at ASU's Memorial Union. College Rotarian attendees were from Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Canada and Mexico Rotaract Clubs. Dr. Norton's talk and group discussion facilitation was about peace and conflict resolution. During the talk, she gave detailed information about Rotary International's peace and security certificate and masters degree fellowships at seven Peace Center partner universities around the world.
Dr Norton serves as Rotary International's District 5510 Peace Fellow Chair. As Peace Fellow Chair, she assists Rotary Clubs and applicants with the process to apply for certificates in peace and conflict studies or obtain a master's degree related to peace and security.
